I have a mesh in 3dsmax that uses 10 shaders. I exported the mesh as FBX and the shader in .ass to be used by another artist in MAYA. The problem is in MAYA, the shader doest detect the matIDs in the mesh and I see only one material in my object.
All the shader are conected in 3dsmax witha Multi material, when exported as .ASS and reimported in 3Dsmax, the MULTImaterial is converted into a Switch Shader, and the index is conected to a "user_data_int" node. The attribute that is reading is mtlID.
I tried a second option, I made my own switch shader and in the index I used a OSL: GetMtlID and works in 3dsmax, but when opening that shader in MAYA, the index channel is empty.
How i can achieve this in MAYA, so the shader works for the other artist?
