Does Mesh Light support light linking?

Though I tested it on MtoA5.4 and 5.5,it doesn't seem to support.

It is working here. Did you create the mesh_light via the Arnold Menu?

I noticed that Mesh Light works if the defaultLightSet has lights in it.
This is the regular environment.
But my environment was irregualr.

In my environment, all lights are intentionally excluded from defaultLightSet by default.
Directional Lights work while Mesh Lights don't work for light linking.

Mesh Lights defined by a "sphere" shape always illuminate a secene even if I exclude them from lignt linking.
Mesh Lights defined by a "plane" shape never illuminate a scene.
I think these behaviors were incorect.

I attach my scene.

Hello,

Just to come back to this. I think that meshlights, illuminate by default, ie when I disconnect it from the default light set, it still illuminates.  You can see below the skydome has no effect when disconnected.

So normal excluding objects in the relationship editor will work, but custom light linking that other lights obey doesn't seem to be the case with aiMeshLight. Probably known about as the illuminate by default checkbox is missing. Something to be fixed ?

I am on an older version so apologies if this is already adressed.

Thanks

Alan.

Thanks Lee,

Can I confirm that aiMeshLights can't be disconnected from the defaultLightSet (or that they don't respect being disconnected) ?

Thanks

Alan.
