Light group limited

Hi. Maya writing error: // Warning: [aov] maximum number of light AOVs (15) exceeded, ignoring "16". Сan you solve this problem?

No, it's a hard limit. You cannot have more light AOVs than that.

On a related tangent,...is there a hard limit to the number of lights that one can have in a scene? (Not Light Aovs, mind you,...actual lights)

Not that I know of. There's been scenes with a million lights.

Hello, we are working with Arnold 6.0.3.0 and the 16 light group limitation is a blocker for our production. Is there plans to address this in future releases and can you provide some details to the reason (optimization?) this limit exists?

We have a ticket for this. There's no ETA though.

It's how the light group state is stored, but changing it involves more than just changing the state definition; we have to change how that state is passed around.
