Hi....

I want to ask you something about mix shader.

jadanlove98_1-1754916255025.png

When I connect the blue node to edge detection mask color(ai toon), it works very well..

BUT

I want to add a little more images to the mask color.

So I added ai image, but I can't see the added image in Renderview...

I can only see the same results as when i connected to the blue node.

SO...

Can you please let me know if there is a node I set up wrong ...

Or can you tell me another way?

Thank you for reading this.

Can you share some renders of what you are trying to achieve? Better still, can you upload the scene somewhere?

~!~!!!!!
Thank you for your reply!!
I want to upload the whole scene right away.
BUT.. it needs a image source from a paid lecture(c4d using arnold, A lecture recommended by you a few years ago. it really really helped me.

https://www.domestika.org/en/courses/4144-3d-toon-style-environment-art-with-arnold. thank you so much.... )

so I don't know if I can upload it....

In C4D, I can implemented the image using mix rgba shader.
However, i actually don't know if I can use a mix shader node instead of that node in Maya.

Glad to hear it!

Have you tried the Layer RGBA shader?

Thank you for advice..!!!

I did it right away.

jadanlove98_0-1754935001435.png

it works better than mix shader !

but... The stain outline is gone..

If there's an image, the stain outline disappears.....

I tried png file and ai image shader, but it was the same result....

I don't know how it works, but I've figured out how to implement it similarly.

When layer 1 is an image file and layer 2 is noise,

it is implemented similarly if the operation method of lyr2 is exclusion.

When layer1 is noise and layer2 is an image file,

it is implemented similarly if the operation method of lyr2 is softlight or pinlight or exclusion.

When I changed the operation of Layer 1, I didn't get any special results.

but the way Layer 2 worked, so I got a good result.

Thanks to your advice, I can move on to the next step. God of Arnold, lee griggs..
