It is planned to get the dynamic OSL node working, but there's no ETA on that. In the meantime, you will need to write your OSL code to a .osl file and then include that file in ARNOLD_PLUGIN_PATH when you start Katana. It will automatically become available in the list of shaders.
The reason the OSL node is available in the light filter list is due to an internal technical limitation. There are a few other instances of shader nodes being available in a list where it doesn't quite make sense, so I apologize about any confusion caused by it.
Thank you for your explanations, in fact I've no problem to load OSL shaders in Maya as well in others soft like Houdini or c4D as you can see in the image bellow.
Osl in Maya
and here osl loaded in Houdini
The problem is only with Katana, no osl at all, even with the variable set to the start script or to the OS
Cheers
Works with KtoA-2.2.0.0-kat3.0-windows
ARNOLD_PLUGIN_PATH=D:\solidangle\osl
My fault, I had a syntax error in the path variable that points to an empty folder. Sorry for the inconvenience, everything works fine
thank you
