Setting Kick bssrdf samples

Hello,

Apologies if this has already been answered, but is there a way to set bssrdf samples in Kick? I couldn't find it in the documentation and was wondering if there was a way to pass the samples as an argument (like -ds for diffuse).

Thanks in advance!

Where do you set BSSRDF samples in HtoA, in the Houdini interface?

Hi Stephen,
I am purposely trying to set them via Kick by passing arguments, I realize those settings could also be set within the .ass or .usda scene files, but I was trying to see if it was possible to set them directly via the kick command.

I don't know what the bssrdf samples are. What parameters do you mean?

They correspond to subsurface (SSS) samples you set inside HtoA. As I mentioned in previous post, I know I can set them in the scene, but I wanted to ask if there was a way to set it via Kick command.

I don't see where the Arnold docs really talk about BSSDF samples. They do mention SSS samples:

kick -set options.GI_sss_samples 8

Perfect, that argument is what I had been looking for! Thank you!

For clarification, I was referring to the Kick/Arnold render log that mentions BSSRDF samples which if I'm not mistaken correspond to SSS samples.
