I get different qualities of AA on the edges of my objects.

Is it possible to get clean edges everywhere?

Thanks a lot.

Alain

Why contour: 4? Try increasing Camera (AA) samples. What resolution?

Hello Lee and thank you for your response.

So I put the contour filter back to default (2) and crancked up the AA samples to 12 + Max Cam AA to 20. Resolution is 2500 x 2500 pixels. But the result is the same... I still get jagged edges.

However, it might be a compositing issue... As I opened the exr in Photoshop.

I just did a test in Fusion and the result is much better. Not perfect but way better than Photoshop.

Any thoughts on this?

Regards,

Alain

Well I think I found the bug... I comped the 2 passes (toon outline + Beauty) wrongly...

When you see the result in HTOA Renderview, it's fine. but if you want the outline + the beauty pass, you need to render them out separetly.

And the issue I have is the Alpha being post-multiplied... I think.

In Fusion if I flatten the exr (no Alpha), I get the result but if I want to comp it separetly, then the same issue happens as in Photoshop. I hope this makes sense.

Could someone please tell me how I could comp the 2 passes in a correct way? Fusion and Photoshop?

I would appreciate!

Thanks a lot.

Finally I found a way to comp it, both in Photoshop and Fusion...

So it was a compositing issue and not Arnold's.

Cheers.

Great. How did you comp it in the end?
