Opacity/Transmission with Image

Hoping someone can help me out...

I have a simple plain with a Mesh light tag applied. The mesh light is using a shader network.

The shader network is an image node and color correction.

I want to be able to adjust the transmission (or is it opacity?) of the image so I still see the image but I am also able to see through the plane to what is behind it. Essentially a semi transparent video screen.

Is this possible?

Any tips appreciated 🙂

What about using the emission channel of the standard_surface shader instead of a mesh light?

Thanks for the speedy response Peter...much appreciated.

I did think about that but after seeing the user guide mention the poorer performance (more noise) with emission vs mesh light I wanted to avoid the emission route.

I also have multiple objects that need to be tweaked and using the mesh light allows me to use the Light Manager which I find very useful.

Is the emission method my only option?

I think that's the only option at the moment, sorry.

Thanks for clarifying Peter.

Hopefully in the future a "transmission" slider or something similar will appear under the Mesh Light 🙂
