missing C4D display in color space tap of IPR viewer

I upgraded the arnold version from 3.xxx to 4.xxx in C4D program. But I found the missing C4D display menu in color space tap of IPR window. So, as shown in attached file, the IPR display and Picture viewer are completely different. How can I fix this situation? When I used the version of 3.xxx, I have no problem to obtain the IPR image which is same to the picture viewer image. Plz, help me solve this problem ASAP.

In the render settings select:

  • View color space: Utility - sRGB - Texture (this is an un-tonemapped sRGB color space)
  • Enable 'Bake view color space into output'

Alternatively you can change to the 'default - ACES' color manager and set the view color space to Un-tone-mapped (sRGB):

Explanation: what you see in the Picture Viewer is actually not correct. The Picture Viewer expects the output in 'linear sRGB' space and does a 'linear sRGB' -> 'sRGB' color transform. That's what the old 'C4D Display' color space setting was doing as well. However your output is in 'ACEScg', and so the transform is incorrect.

With the bake option enabled, the transform is done by Arnold correctly from 'ACEScg' to your selected view color space.

As for the view color space, 'Output - sRGB' is a tonemapped sRGB space, that's why it looks a bit darker, but it really just the tonemapping. You can switch to an un-tonemapped sRGB space, if that's what you need.

(Just for completeness, the recommended workflow is to render in ACEScg (e.g. to EXR) and do the view transform in post based on your display device.)
