Pixelated render (urban model)

Hi! I used to render with Mentalray, but my newer 3ds max version has Arnold instead, and I can't get my render to look better that this: the building look totally pixelated.

I've alredy set the output size to 2048x1556, I've activated adaptative sampling (AA samples max:20), I've been adjusting Sampling and ray depth and maxing AA camera to 8 instead of 3, but the only result is more calculation time for the same result. It has only a sunlight light, and very basic geometries.

¿Does anyone know how to solve this?

Welcome to the Arnold Answers.

Could share a screenshot of your Render Settings - Arnold Render Tab? I wonder if the filtering is set to Box or something missing.

Yes, that does not seem right. Does it happen with a new scene (teapot and light)? Maybe you could try rendering some of the Learning Scenes to see if you have the same issue? Adaptive sampling shouldn't be necessary for such a simple scene. If you haven't already seen them, here are some pages I recommend having a look at:

Thanks for the material. I've readed it, and it seems that everything points to maxing AA Camera or output resolution, but it doens't seem to help. I'm trying the learning scenes and the seem to do fine, too.

My model is 800 x 800 meters wide, a cad link, ortographic view.

Ok, one thing you need to do is updating Arnold

Maybe there is a bug that has been solved on a newer version.

Are you sure the render isn't aborting after the first progressive renders (that is, after AA -3)?
That's the only way I can make something like that happen.

What shader is applied to the geometry?

Where is that screenshot from? Is it from the Arnold Render View?

Can you make sure the render finishes? Get an Arnold log
