Hello,
I recently purchased a city scene from Evermotion that is prepared for V-ray 3.0 with 3dsMax 2011 (or higher). I am currently using 3dsMax 2024 and Maya 2023 for my projects. I encountered some issues when trying to export the scene to Maya with Arnold as FBX and would greatly appreciate your assistance in resolving them.
I used SceneConverter to convert all elements to Arnold, including lights (converted to ArnoldLights) and materials (converted to StandardSurface). However, during the export process, I received the following error message: "The following lights are not supported by the plug-in and will not be exported: -ArnoldLight001." I have attached screenshots of the error message and Maya Viewport with imported ArnoldLight for your reference.
Then, I noticed that all the materials appear gray, and upon checking the Hypershade, I discovered that the materials do not have any connections to texture files.
To summarize, I successfully imported the city model into Maya, but I am facing issues with missing materials and lights. Could you please provide me with instructions on how to fix these issues?

Don't use FBX, use ASS or USD
Thank you so much for your prompt response! To clarify, should I begin by using the scene converter to convert from Vray to Arnold, and then export the file as ASS or USD? Are there any additional specific settings or steps I need to follow to ensure that everything, including materials and lights, can be imported into Maya and rendered using Arnold?
Im trying to use the Send to > Send to Maya > Send a new scene
My mesh goes to a new maya file without problem, but the Arnold shaders are not
You can export the shaders from the Arnold Menu in 3ds Max
and import them with Import Arnold Shaders here.

You can also convert the shaders to standard_surface here.
