Arnold Renderview Freezes when Slate Material Editor is open

Hi,

Having pretty severe issues with renderview freezing/crashing when paused or closed while slate material editor is open. Renderview works fine when ME is closed, or when the compact editor is used - so i've isolated the issue to the SME, but as yet have had no luck solving the issue.

Have tried both CPU/GPU rendering to see whether one works better, but so far all produce similar results

any suggestions welcome!

Does this happen with the latest MAXtoA 5, or just with MAXtoA 4 ?

Doesn't happen on my Windows 10 machine. I think I saw one other report somewhere, but that was maybe you? (either Autodesk forums or Autodesk support)

This happens with the latest version, MtoA5, but also happened before i carried out the latest upgrade. I have posted on Autodesk support so it is possible that it was me - although hopefully i'm not the only person experiencing the issues.

Can you tell me whether you use any particularly material-heavy scenes? I shared a file with support that i was experiencing problems with and, although they couldn't replicate the issue, they did comment on how many materials were being used in the scene and suggested that this could have caused the complications...
