"Workflows" - revisit the implementation of workflows

Alias provides four distinct 'workflows'.  Selecting a specific workflow changes:

• Marking Menus

• Tool availability - only tools pertanent to the workflow are displayed

• Control Panel layout

• User colors

There current workflows are: 

• Default - all tools are available

• Paint - only paint tools are availabe

• Modeling - only modeling tools are available

• Rendering - only rendering tools are available

To change a workflow, users select an entry under the Preferences menu.  Many users only change the control panel by selecting a dropdown menu at the top of the panel, which only changes the panel contents.

Should the 'Workflows' implementation be simplified, or is the current implementation sufficient?

I believe the current design is sufficient. You have hotkey options to change workflows. The problem I see is that Alias is always trying to consolidate tools, place tools in logical locations on every release. This cause confusion and irritability with the users.
