Background:
I extensively work in between Maya and Alias, I not only work on provided sketches but also ideate and iterate in either softwares . There seems to be a lack of feedback in Alias while quick model making mostly with previewing and working in between multiple parts.
Scenario:
1:Possibly working on multiple parts(say exterior and interior in the same project)that are layered differently. And i want to preview how my interior head rest design language corresponds to the exterior without having to see the line weight of exterior (like in toggle model option ) but still be able to work on interior.
2: have a model(maybe imported fbx) without its surface patch layout in my grid in the same window but not overlapping or sharing the same center point (somewhere in vicinity) and the user being able to correspondingly work on surfacing from said reference.
Suggestion:
Maybe have a <PREVIEW> mode in <Set State>option of layers just like in Maya. such that user can work on a different layer without having to see the patch layout of a toggled layer. Possibly lock the layer too such that the user doesnot create new surfaces or have ghost commands working on that particular layer.
I think this will be very helpfull for people who Iterate on Alias and also for ones who are working on imported meshes.
