Make locators snappable

Make locators snappable

Alias shows lots of useful locators with measuring/analysis tools, but they are not snappable.

I've established the closest distance between to curves in space using the Curve To Curve Deviation tool. How can I snap to these locators? Is there any trick to make such measured information snappable?

The software places self-made or calculated deviation locators on curves and boundaries. That means the exact position along the curve's or boundary's parameterisation is known. And that means it should be possible to make that snappable; after all, one can since years snap to intersections that are only projective and other known points, such as CVs or EPs, centres and pivots.

Also, it would be super useful, like in SolidWorks, to be able to snap to inflection points on a higher degree curve, where it changes from concave to convex; or snapping to all of these kind of locators. Snapping to locators on a curve/boundary would be really boss & chief!

I really support that idea. There will be use cases for this in my opinion. Moreover this is something I don´t know from other tools and thus some kind of unique feature 😃

Yes that really would be highly appreciated!

One thig I sometimes do which may accoplish the desired effect in some cases:

Use a "Keypoint Line" It will show the dimension length when creating it; and after it goes away; you can always open the "Information Window > Attributes > to see the dimension. The keypoint line (Or endpoints) can be snapped to.

That does not help you to snap to a locator, for example to a locator showing you the closest distance between two curves, or surfaces, etc. or to the locator where a curve goes from concave to convex. The software has those co-ordinates, because it displays a locator there, but one cannot snap to it.
