Boolean Operation with Multiple Selection

Boolean Operation with Multiple Selection

Comes very handy in some cases to use Boolean Operations to trim big groups of stitched objects with another shell object.

This comes even more true with Dynamo that it is not so good as Alias in stitching up shapes yet allows the creation of many shell objects that is then unable to trim with the main volume from alias as it usually cannot stitch it into a shell.

That is why the Shell Boolean Operation tool in Alias is very useful.

The problem is that the Shell Union/Subtraction/Intersection Operation tools in Alias only allows the selection of one object per time. Would be good if this tool can support multiple selections so that I can subtract thousands of objects from another object in one go.

It took you few years to understand and solve a similar issue with the trim tool, hopefully will take less versions to get this elementary function this time.

Thanks for your work.

I vote for this but wish it can be even simple that users don't need to make objects to be shells

Stitch and unstitch will make objects lost their history and Boolean may not be the best way to describe what to keep and what to delete

And on top of this, it's very important that Alias should have some basic "solid modeling tools" to make some works easier, like:

Cut / grow a thickness by COS - so you don't need to offset and trim, and create side walls

Solid offset: surface offset and side walls would be extended or trimmed as well to follow the offset

These surely can be delivered by manually trim with other commends. but I found my students struggled around simple things like this - hope Alias can continue to improve this.
