Blend Curves redesign

Blend Curves redesign

I'd like to gauge interest in a redesign of Blend Curves.  Although they are very useful, we have identified areas that they could be improved:

• Form Factor - blend curve cv structure and scaling could mirror form factor from the surface fillet tool, providing a consistent cv layout for curves and surfaces

• Interaction - reduce the number of tools in the toolbox, and provide more in-canvas user interface controls

If you agree that this is a project worth doing, please provide examples of other issues you would like to see addressed.

It really bugs me thet I cannot create a 6th Degree Blend curve!!!

I should be able to have a G3 Blend on one side; and a G2 on the other; without having to make the curve a 7th Degree curve.

I also Agree with the need for better user interface controls. One thought I have is to toggle via a Key-Stroke to see globaly what blend curves are set to; such as a bubble label to show: G3,  G2, G1, G0, etc.

Good projekt with potential

Please have a look if it is possible to have a blendpoint whithin a curve without inserting an edit point at this location.

Could do so with strech tool but then I have no history.

Would also be nice to have a symmetry option to mirror funktionality like the symmetric fillet tool in the surface world.

Just drag one blend point and the other side slides automaticly along the curve to achive a kind of symmetry within the curve.

I agree too. And as I am a reseller I allready have a lot of feedback from my customers.

Most important issues:

  1. CVs have to match 100% surfaces (form factor)
  2. CVs should be movable manually without loosing construction history.
