Successful G2 continuity but huge gap between surfaces

I am using CATIA V5 and ran into a strange situation. I have successful G2 continuity between 2 surfaces but there is a visible gap between them with very little zoom and the zebra shader is visibly broken. The deviation is zero between the edges. All of the surrounding surfaces are also G2.

Any help appreciated.1.jpg2.jpg3.jpg

Probably just a tessellation issue;  Tighten up the tolerance and/or switch to the "accurate" tessellator.

My tolerance is set to 0.01 and to Accurate. Very strange issue.

Yes, those settings should be fine for most things.  I would try an even tighter number...like 0.005 or 0.001

There can sometimes be a glitch in the way the software tessellates some surfaces, especially Trimmed patches.  If you convert those to polygons using NURBS to Mesh -> Use existing tessellation, it might give you a clue as to where the problem is coming from.

In any case, I think the problem is just visual...unless you did something strange.

If you can upload a file, maybe we can look at if for you.

Thanks for replying. Lowering the tolerance seemed to have solved the problem. I think it had something to do with the "max curvature dev=1.0" note I was seeing and the way my mesh is constructed. I had the same issue as this person where I get failed curvature  with "max curvature dev=1.0"  displayed but my highlights are perfect.
