Layer colors not seen in translated reference files

Hello ,

I am trying to load a .wire file which has many layers with  different layer colors, by translating them as .wref file through reference manager.

When i load the translated .wref file into alias file, the layer colors are not seen .

Is there any way i can get this layer colors automatically translated when i use reference files ?

Looking forward for suggestions.

Unfortunately reference data does not display the original layer colors.  They are translated and will show up if you promote the reference data to real geometry, but then it would no longer be optimized reference data.  It was originally determaned that it would be too confusing if read in ref data looked just like the original geometry.

Hello Bob,

Thanks for your reply

I understand what you have mentioned . Let me explain you the problem i am facing

We receive lots of engineering sections for the complete car in different layer colors, which  helps us to understand different parts. I can not load them directly into the alias file and work as it is heavier.

So i load them using reference manager in which the colors are not seen . So i can not differentiate them easily.

As you have mentioned , I see the layer colors when i promote the geometry.

But every time i use this sections to compare the current data with the standard sections.

In future releases ,if you can provide an additional option to show layer colors while translating the file will be helpful.

I understand your situation and we were discussing it after your post and I think we will at some point provide the ability to use the existing colors, but for now your only choice will be to assign new colors to parts (in the reference manager) as you load them.
