How do I create these wheel arches?

Hello! I am transportation design student and I started my switch from Maya to Alias.

I managed to complete the free tutorials from Autodesk and I'm thinking of buying some in-depth courses for alias.

I tried modelling one of my own projects in Alias with mediocre success but I'm happy I managed to achieve something. 

In the interim, I'm trying to model a project of my own and I can model the outward side of the wheel arches but I can't get my head around the other side so my question is how should I approach the modelling?

The images in the attachments are somewhat similar to the kind of wheel arch I want to achieve. 

Any ideas and suggestions are highly appreciated.

In MAYA were you using polygonal/subd modeling or NURBS modeling? Are you trying to use traditional surfacing in Alias or Subd modeling in Alias...? Depending on what you are trying to achieve the answer will vary...The images you included are of a traditional surface model...not Subd or polygons...
