Duplicate Object

Still, it has not been fixed when you go to edit > duplicate object options box...when you hit 'reset' nothing changes. All other versions prior to 2015 would reset the choices to default. I thought the first update fixed this, but still not working. Has any one else noticed this?

Is this the duplicate tool that you are talking about ? Please refer to the below screenshot. I have no problem in resetting the duplicate settings to the default one.

Yes! That's the one! I wonder what's wrong on my end. The video card is a quadro K4000. I have a pretty good workstation. I don't get it. I still have 2014 installed and that works fine. I'm using the recommended driver as well.

Well, why not you try to perform a complete uninstall of your current Alias 2015, restart your PC and then reinstall it. Restart again and try it out. Please export your user preference for Alias before this.

I uninstalled 2015 and reinstalled it. I noticed that my prefs were already there without the program asking me if I wanted to import from a previous version. So, when attempting to reset the duplicate object, same thing happened. So I uninstalled, then I deleted the prefs from the 2015 folder (in fact, I deleted that whole folder). I downloaded and installed 2016 today, and the same thing is happening.

If this still can't solve your problem then,

Create a new admin account, use it to uninstall your existing Alias installation. then reinstall at the same new admin account. See if this helps!

Thanks to jonathan, deleting my prefs and accepting the defaults when starting Alias solved this problem. It's a bit of a pain to customize hot keys, marking menus, and control panel to my liking, but hopefully I only need to do this once.

I was jumping the gun! Now, the reset button, when clicked on, will give me some values that I typed in shortly after setting up 2016. Always the same values...5 copies rotated around the Z axis 60 degrees. If I manually remove these settings and change them to some other values, clicking on the reset button changes everything back to 5 copies rotated 60 degrees around the Z axis.

Update...I have found that when exiting the program, it seems to save any settings in the Duplicate Object function so that the next time I start the program the settings are the same as when I left (naturally), but during use in that session, any time I hit "reset" all the settings return to where I left them the last time i shut the program down. In the past, anytime I hit "Reset" all settings were returned to default. So to correct what is happening now, just before exiting the program I set all the settings in Duplicate Object to their original default, save my preferences, and then whenever I use the program and hit "Reset", it goes back to default instead of where I last used them. Can someone check to see if that is what happens to them? Thx.
