Print external lists from Document Manager

Print external lists from Document Manager

@Gernot.Jeromin

Mr. Jeromin,

This was submitted a few times already both in this idea station and in private, no results yet.

Currently we can save lists and update them from DM, but we cannot print them.

I just had to change (4) bolts, one cap plate and (2) beams out of 150+ beams and 100+ columns and 4.000+ SP project.

All the external lists had to be printed manually again, it is time wasted for us ; software is not done right.

Please put this in your roadmap, we need external lists to be printed from the DM the way drawings are printed.

I appreciate everything your team does, just with this case software is lacking the basics.

Thank you for your consideration.

Hi,

at the moment we have several requests to improve our reports in Advance Steel, but also in Revit.

I am in the process to collect them all, and put them on the roadmap.

Your input / feedback is much appreciated.

Mr. Jeromin,

Thank you for your reply,

I believe this idea station is for Advance Steel and there is nothing to do with Revit.

Please refrain from mixing up both software packages and concentrate on Advance Steel.

If the wish is to improve reporting, then we should not only be able to print the lists from Doc manager, but also create them using a batch process...

Yes, This is what exactly I meant-batch plot as the rest of the documents.

Sometimes a minor change in one SP that takes 5 minutes for both model and dwg to be updated it take more time to update the external lists.

.... apologize for the spelling, we work under pressure, we can be excused.

My stomach is getting sick how we have to beg for simple things heavily overlooked.

Not a real detailer is present in the dev's team to handle heavy workflow and to see where the time is wasted.

Don't think my post was clear. What I meant by also create them using a batch process is to have the ability to select say 10 BOM templates at once (or have a process that can be set) and each individual list gets created and saved (bit off topic, I know... ;-))

These should then be able to be plotted all at once as you requested.

You've also touched on the performance issue. This is HUGE! Admittedly, we are not detailing simple beam jobs (lots of plate work including twisted plates). The time to run some assemblies is at round the 20MIN mark! Update takes 5+ Mins each time. Each section (a typical drawing might have 5-10 sections) 10+ Mins EACH!! I know it's off topic again, but it should (I hope) definitely be on the development radar...

Yes, I requested couple years ago  selecting the lists from a new menu, and batch plot them from there or from DM after updating.
