So I am following a sugesstion that the dark background on my screen will be easier on my eyes that the white background I have worked with for countless years....  I do not discount advice, but try all tips and advice I can get. But since I am trying the dark background I have issues with pdf plotting the dims and text.  See pix.

pdf generated from plot with dark backgroundpdf generated from plot with dark backgroundpdf after changing back to white backgroundpdf after changing back to white backgroundnot sure how this happened....not sure how this happened....

Hi @muleman1

Not currently at my machine so can't test but I think it's something to do with this - https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/advance-steel/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2020/ENU...

Had the drawings already been run then you changed the setting? If so a Regen in the drawing might resolve the issue

I chose "no background" this eliminates the blackouts on our PDF's, but now when we move a dim value over an adjacent line, you can see the clash of the dim text and whatever is behind it....

@muleman1

Hi, not at work, but my setup is all black everywhere-model when wireframe, dark interface, paperspace is all black, no paper background.

No issues with dims.

I can’t work all day with white background, it is killing my eyes.

Have a great weekend.

Hi @muleman1 ,

my desktop is in model / layouts always black, no problems with dimensions etc. The basis is the corresponding settings in Options / Colors and in AutoCad drawing style (for me, dimensions always have a background color). Also take a look at the print settings. Set the EPDFSHX variable to 0. That's my experience 😉😁 ...

These are the settings I have in my prototypes and my management defaults

DimStyle text.PNGManagement defautl.PNG

I have my background white, ive done the following tests

1. AutoCAD background white - ran a drawing, printed ok

2. AutoCAD background white - ran a drawing, changed AutoCAD background to black - printed ok

3. AutoCAD background black - ran a drawing, printed ok

Even if i had a drawing open with a white background, changed to black (i would still get the labels showing solid back) if i printed without doing a regen the PDF came out ok.

From watching your screencast the only difference I can see is the Dimension Style colour, mine was set to Background
