I found these objects in my model today. Not sure how they were created or why they exist.
The Objects are called ASTXUSERDEFINEDPOINT
I am curious what they are and how they are used by Advance Steel.

These come from macros where you are asked to click a point, for example the railing macro where it asks for the start / end point. The stair macro, ladder, purlin macro all have them too. Any macro where the user is defining a point this is what they are.
It could have also come from a custom connection where you have Beam/Point as an input.

The points are not "Physical" objects so, no, they are not available for dimensioning or anything else. They just control the joint.
