Unfolded Beam Axis System line (detail)

Hello all,

Wondering if anyone has any experience or solutions/guidance with my issue.

On an unfolded pipe(beam) view, I'm trying to show the system line to dimension the actual cut length.

I have a beam shortening on one end and need to dimension that amount. BUT because its an unfolded type presentation the system lines seem to be overridden by the development lines.

Is this correct?

Is it impossible to show system line and development line on one detail?

screenshot may help explain.

Presentation of the unfolded beam is Visible(Unwinded)SystemVisible

I have spent way to much time trying to get one dimension automated on this detail.

This is what I'm after ultimately but so far no luck. You would think a SIMPLE dimension like below would be relatively easy to automatically add to a Sp drawing.....sometimes this software makes zero sense. It can be so powerful and then something so simple fails. grrrr

Hi,

I don't know about the unwind view but in the normal views I would try making a dimension chain as follows:-

direction = X Axis of Object.

Point selector 1 = Main part, system point, left extreme

Point selector 2 = Main part, contour, left

You would need a corresponding chain for the right end too.

See if they give you anything.
