Unbelievably Slow Work

Longstanding issue at our firm that the softwares (Inventor, Revit, Advance Steel) are quite painfully slow sometimes, I can spend hours staring at a screen during the day before the computer decides it wants the software to do something. I know it isn't the hardware on the computer, everyone at the office is running a considerably powerful workstation.

Simple tasks like opening Document Manager take forever, often enough AS will crash (multiple times a day) and the drawings lose their link. I have recently been getting kicked from our server and cannot save the work I did in the time span before I saved, this is an ongoing issue.

My question is... What is the ideal server setup to run all of these softwares? We have a Datto Siris and this HDD setup seems extremely slow. What do we need to do? We are approx. 25 in the office.

You probably don't want to hear this but with Advance Steel you should always store and work from a local drive (SSD) for best results.

So is it the backup/restore feature that is slowing it all down?
Are you also stating that there are no issues if your files are stored elsewhere?

Have you engaged their support yet https://www.datto.com/support/

What testing have you performed?
