Token "UserAttribute" disappears when set in BOM drawing template

Dears Colleagues

I need that a specific User Attribute appears next to the Token "%Name", or replaced this Token in the same cell.

When I generate a first test for just the Token "%Name" everything is allright (see picture below)

BOM List with Name.jpg

After that I changed the BOM template to appear the "UserAttribute" (see picture below)

BOM List with Name Disappeared.jpg

For my surprise the cell in column "Descrição" disappeared with no reason, not showing the

User Attribute that I have set in the model.

After a search in AKN, I have found this article

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/advance-steel/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2019/ENU...

This article afirms that is possible to put a User Attribute Token in a cell inside a BOM drawing list (see picture below)

I tested and it appears to work for me. See attached template file.

Hi @markhubrich

So, you created a new column with new Tokens?

Thanks for reply

No, I just changed the tokens in another template file and saved as new name.

Don't forget to make sure the group is still intact. If the line isn't grouped then it will not work.

I used to ungroup when editing in the past but now I just turn off "Group Selection" to edit.

If you can share your template file I can better see where you're issue is and fix it for you so you can learn from the example.

Here's what I got changing the name token to userattribute1..

I also noticed when I first inserted your template that it was empty. This is probably due to the groupby field.

Here's a few observations:

1. the groupby field was trying to group by class which was not included in the line as a token. It should have a present token in the group it belongs too. I changed it too %Num.

2. the groupby field had it's own group. This needs to be part of the group you want to sort, or the template will be blank.

You can add columns. You just need to be sure that you include them in the group.

I attached the file. I hope this helps you understand better the workings of the BOM templates 🙂
