I am getting an error message "The parameter is incorrrect" when trying to place a handrail on stairs. Any ideas on how to fix?

Could be a number of things.

Can you add screenshots or model?

Hi,

i know this error message. It occurs if your last generated railing cant be attached to this beam with a u-shape.

If AS cant do that it shows an error message instead of a red box around your connection.

So try another profile. Maybe just a flat bar or a T-Profile. After creating the railing change the basic parameters so it would fit to an u-shape profile and just save the settings and AS will take these settings for your next railing.

Maybe this will fix your error...
