System Lines on Railing Details

Is there a magic check box somewhere that will trim these pesky system lines? The railing macro is leaving these lines a mess and I am not sure how to fix. I would like the system lines to trim where the material is trimmed.  Especially at a miter condition on pipe where it is my desire to reference the center line for dimensions.

I know it is very annoying.

Try Advanced trim from the tool palette.

(Advance tool palette--->Tools --> Advanced Trim).

Thanks

Abraham

Hii!!

What I feel is that you should not do anything in the model. What I would suggest is to change the object presentation in the DSM from VisibleHiddenSystem to VisibleHiddenMedian, this would only show the centre line of the object upto its physical look.

Thanks,

Try and respond.

Hi Mark,

I use the following macro, it trims or extends to a system line of another object, it is faster than the out of the box command, only pay attention when trimming the longer part to be the one that remains:

^C^C_AstM9CommTrimExtend; s;

BTW-Thank you for the Boxx idea-I look forward working with them.

If it is made of steel, I can model it and detail it.

Works great for those horrible system lines.

Now added to my tool palette.

Hi,

1. Type CUI in command line

2. Right click and Add new command

CUI1.jpg

3. Copy the above macro in Macro Line.

CUI2.jpg

4. Assign a toolbar

You can create your own toolbar, and upload it per screen shots above or you can use existing one and modify it.

After you create the new command, slide it to ACAD tool palette or tool bar.

To add it to the tool palette.

1. Right click and hold the mouse button on any of the icons until they start to wobble.

2. Go up to the + at the top and click, then click command.

3. Name it and add a picture, copy and paste the command into the box.

4. you can drag it where ever you want to place it, the click the top of the tool palette.

Does anyone know where the sample pictures are stored?

I'd like to copy and modify the trim one to show red dashed lines to indicate system lines.

Thanks.
