Strammit Downturn Z Lip Purlin

Hello Everyone,

I was require to do Strammit Downturn Z Lip Purlins but as soon as I choose overlap they profiles don't change from broad to narrow rather then flipping the second profile upside down which is incorrect?

How can this be fix?

You can't do that through the macro. You'll have to manually control the shapes.

Suggest you do one purlin run (across the building) with all connections, then copy (using AS functions) up or down the rafter. That way, you won't have to do a connection at each instance.

I disagree, why does the standard lysaght and strammit Z purlin switch to broad and narrow when you turn the overlap option on? Why can't the Downturn lip option be the same?

Because it does exactly the same with the downturn lip as the standard purlins. That is, rotate them about the axis. Which does not work with a downturn lip.

The downturn lips were an addition after the macro was written, so I'd suggest they were not considered properly.

I know what my question is same with the answer (manually do it), I just thought their might be an option in the management tools where I can change it to broad and narrow rather than standard and flipping every second profile when overlap is turned on.

As I said, there is no option to change the way a macro works as this is coded within the macro. Hence, the only option is to do manually. Not ideal, but not that big an issue IMO. Understand you didn't agree with my answer, which is why i explained where this behavior comes from and why it works with normal purlins and not downturn lip purlins.

I can't do much about AD and their decisions, all I can do is offer help. If you can get them to change a macro, I think we'll all be grateful.
