Stair Stringers and NC/DXF file issues

I have modeled a small stair and the stringer NC/DXF files are not producing the proper part at the fab shop.

I know enough about NC files to be dangerous and need help as our customers' software supplier for their beam line tells me the problem is on my end.

Attached is their email to me and the nc and dxf files of the affected part.

Thanks in advance!

After trying a fix, my customer says it did not work. He sent a screen shot of how the nc file came out (screen shot.docx), along with an updated dxf file that he changed to get the desired output (tim11s4.nc.dxf.). He tells me the holes are off by .215".

Why is it near impossible to obtain any information at all on nc/dxf files through AutoDesk?

I need help!

Ive opened your NC file in the free NC viewer I use and the part looks ok, different NC viewers will interpret this information and display it differently, which seems to be the issue you are having.

There is one management setting that seems to help with beams with double cuts as you have at the end of your stringer. If you check to see if you have the "Force beam contours in NC" ticked, if you dont can you tick it, re-run the NC and see if that helps with the NC file.

There is one steel supplier in the UK for example whos machine reads the NC file in one way and when that management tool is enabled it reads the file the "correct" way.

The only thing this default seems to do is take some of the contour data which is in the lower part of the NC file and duplicate it and add it to the top of the NC file

Not a problem @dcubbedge

That's a bit of an obscure management default and only seems to be useful for beams with double cuts on the end
