Rolled I Section doesn't stay on plate?

I have a plate created for a landing and used Rolled I Section along the edge of the plate - the I section appears too far down. I'm guessing this is a problem with the UCS I'm missing. I have tried setting the UCS to the plate but that still does not fix it.

Is this a problem with my levels? It appears to be aligned to 0 on the height.

Good afternoon @pedcarson

If you look at your Project Explorer your Level 0 is Bold, this means that the level is active, so anything you model is locked to that level. So the beam is locked to that level even if you selection points are not on that level

You can do the following to resolve the issue

1. Delete the beam, deactive the level (right click and choose deactiveate) so nothing is bold, then model the beam again, you could activate another level if you wanted

2. De associate the deam from the level, go to the workplanes tab on your Project Explorer, right click on Level 0, choose Detach elements, then click the beam, right click, then you will have to click a red sphere at each end of the beam to detach the node

This article should help a little with levels - https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/advance-steel/learn-explore/caas/CloudHelp/cloudhelp/2019/ENU...
