Rod bracing in 3D view

So, I have rod bracing, looking in model:

But when I create 3D view, some of them dissapear (usually next to the crossing). It happens very often, but not always:

Had somebody similar problem ?

Hi @Anonymous

Are the rods clashing in the model, if they are then the 3D struggles to calculate what to show on the drawings, therefore some lines are missing

The only way to fix this is to resolve the clash by move one rod up and one down etc

It makes sense... After a quick check - it works. However, I have one place when there is no collision and half a rod still is disappearing, but generally it works.

Thank you very much.

Nevertheless, I think a small collision shouldn't make such a problem with 3D view.

Hi @Anonymous

Where you still have an issue is there a clash at the end of the rod?

I agree it can be frustrating that a tiny clash can cause and issue but if the system cant figure out where the lines should be going it cant generate them, the only solution is to fix the clash

Yes, there were other collisions at the end - I realized that quickly after sending previous post. I wrote about another model, very basic, without connections, so there were collisions everywere. 🙂

I still don't understand something. Advance Steel hasn't any problems with such rods with collisions in model, in any shademode, included hidden (which is similar to generated drawings) and gouraud / realistic which are much more complex to display. The program hasn't even any problem with displaying it dynamically, when I zoom or rotate a model. But it has problem with one static view on generated drawings. It's weird...

Hi @Anonymous

When you are viewing in the model the system is using AutoCAD graphics and enviroment so even though there is a clash its in the modelling enviroment so it can be seen

When you generate drawing views Advance Steel is taking over and has to take the information from the model and create the 2D views, so it needs to "draw" the lines, if 2 elements are clashing it doesnt know what to "draw" as it cannot calculate the surfaces of the objects.
