Hello!
I want to draw purlins on my roof. I have a beam that is connected to another vertical beam. If I use purlin tool to draw purlins on top of that beam I have a problem with inclination of my purlins. I attached the file.
Help me change that angle or tell me how can I draw purlins on my beam?
Greets, Nina
Hi,
If you delete the connection between the column and the rafter the purlins will then align correctly with the rafter.
Kind Regards
Chris
Hi,
The reason that this will not work correctly is that the beams used in the model a polybeams to from the vertical and incline beams, one polybeam.
The purlin insert macro was not designed to work with this beam type in the configuration that is in the model.
polybeams where created in AS to create strange curved, spline type arrangements, ones that are reasonable straight forward, you would model as normal Advance Beam elements.
updated file returned.

Hi @Anonymous,
As you can see in the photo atached. The column is not aligned with the vertical Axis , ( in this case "Z" ).
For this reason ( because of the beam is united to the column , and the column has a diferent direction of the vertical axis "z" ) is the desviation ocurring. If you put the column exactly in the same direction than axis Z I guess the problem will solve.
Regards,
Jon.
