Hi all, I'm still very new to AS, I have a project where I have drawn these plates which will be used for haunch and apex flitch plates for some glulam frames. The way AS automatically pulls them into drawings and dimensions them isn't ideal (I'm not sure how to disable the scale compression between drill holes or how to deal with dimensioning the angled leg and holes). Any tips welcome! (I am looking to book onto a short course with a training agency soon)

The dimensioning is automatically controlled through the "Drawing Styles". This area can be somewhat in depth and caution is required as changing one style could affect others. I recommend backing up the USA folder if you plan to try this. Graitec can help with this if needed.
In the meantime, you can manually create the dimensions you need. Start by deleting the dimensions you do not want on the angled legs and then use the parametric dimension tool for linear sloped. Be sure you snap to points that the software recognizes (e.g.: center of hole) or the manual dimensions may disappear during updates.
I am not sure what you meant by scale compression, but if this refers to shortening then you can select the green frame around the view and double click on it to open the dialog for this view. The view scale and shortening options are here.
Hi,
The drawing is correct but the plate shape probably looks wrong because you have clipping in the x direction turned on. Try double-clicking in the outer green frame around the view, change to the clipping page and remove the tick from the "X Clipping" box.

@DMorton_Graitec_Mtl and @AleckGiles I've been pretty manic at work and not had a chance to get back to you both to say thanks for your solutions! Both help me achieve what I was after and have helped my understanding of the software so thank you both!
