numbering

I built a simple structure, but it seems every time I number the same beams or columns have different part numbers.

I have 6 beams but only 5 are listed with same part number, but they are the same.

is this a comment or a question?
There're no pics, models or such data...how should we know, what is the problem?
In general I could write, that in the most cases, Advance Steel did the correct numbering...really not often there's problem with the egual part detection.
Maybe you upload you model and we could have a look for it

Each object (even if it is the same object) go with the diferent number to ease and facilitate the counting of objects in shop. If you have 5 beams withthe same geometric properties all will have a different number.

Imagine you preparing these beams for the assembly in the field...if you have the same number with the same code how on earth you know that all the beams need to be assembled??

The solution for this is to put a prefix in order to professional to know that are all beams, for example:

Suppose you have 5 beams that are equal

Assign

Beams number 1 (B1)

Beams number 2 (B2)

Beams number 3 (B3)

Beams number 4 (B4)

Beams number 5 (B5)

Thus you have 5 elements equal (Letter B), but with diferent number...
