Newbie please help Bom list not working

Have trial version at the moment, finished model and trying to rum bom but get the following error. Anyone help?

 

No matching base objects found. Please check the selection definition. If the property \"class\" is switched on, a value (beam, plate,..) is required".

Please try the following steps:

  1. Go to Create lists
  2. Select the complete model > Next 
  3. Select destination file > Create lists
  4. When Template Editor appears > Select the list in the template tree > Use
  5. Select the model extract for the BOM > Select the target list (List created in step no. 2) > OK

In which step do you see the warning? 

 

If this doesn't help, please upload your model and BOM template you are trying to extract. Hope this helps.

The error comes up after number 3 pressing create lists. I have tried on other models and same thing happens. See attached model. I only need a material list from it so if I could get that I would be happy for now.

Thank you for your reply. Have you checked this? 

 

 

 

But if you have checked the option "Based on assembly", you should have assembly in your model.

I have noticed that Assembly numbering was not activated.

Check this and try to run the numbering again. Please let me know how it goes.

It works, thank you but not sure what I was doing, I need to see how assemblies etc work
