Negative Angle In Saw List

In our fab shop we use the Saw List with Pictures.  I give my cutter both the angle of the cut and the cutback distance.  However, with stair railing, we use HSS and it seemingly arbitrarily picks the "web" and "flange" to show the cuts.  And, if the angle is negative (for some reason???) the cut back is 0.  How can I fix this?

Below is an example page from our saw list and a piece showing that there should be a cutback of 1", but the list shows the angle without the distance.

@Jonathan.Jasinski  You can correct the Nc file by opening it in notepad and removing the negative sign. It will help use dstv or atek viewer. This error occurs due to wrong modeling practices.

A couple of things.

1. My cutter is a person and not CNC controlled.  So, the NC file is irrelevant to my problem.

2. "Wrong Modeling Practices"?  This particular piece was drawn using the railing macro and is a mid-rail automatically drawn using the macro with no alterations.  Not sure what the "Correct Modeling Practice" is there.

@Jonathan.Jasinski  Please check your member fixing values start and end point . You should place member left to right. i think you have placed member right to left or you have used mirror command .. to placing members ..

Maybe you upload your model. I tried it with an example and it worked:

The [E, D, e, d ] values are not calculated in the BOM viewer, so it should be equal if this is positiv or negativ, the value is not "0".
There could be a script for changing the negative value of the angle to a positive one, but I think, this is not the solution for the problem, because then the which is shown, will be not correct. The chance to create wrong parts would be much higher.

Model is uploaded.  The parts in question are on the stairs.  As a convention, when adding railing to my stairs, the start point is at the bottom of the stairs and the end point is the top.  Regardless, your example showed it working with a negative value so it should work.  Model attached.

I will have a look, what I see first: the DWG contains information back to Advance Steel 2017?

Could you try to copy the element in a new drawing, use the numbering and then create a new Saw list?

This model was started and finished in AS 2021.  I have no idea how anything from AS 2017 could even be there.  It isn't even installed on my machine.  What is flagged as 2017?

I could not see what element, I only see this:

To your problem:

the beams have not a cut, it will be created by a contour. So if I use the cut, the result is ok:

You could avoid this situation by using another connection type:

After changing this, the beam will be cut not only by a contour, there will be an "cut", an then it will show this (as example of your model I only take the number 1007):

Hope this helps. have a nice weekend

That does work.  Thank you.  My gut says that this is stemming from your previous comment of something referencing a much earlier version of AS and I will see if I can't find out where that is coming from.  Do you have any suggestions for where to start?

Maybe you start with your dwt 😄

If you use an older dwt, this will appear this situation. It is not always a problem, it's just one point I always have a look for.

It is showing all the old versions as well.  How would I fix this?  Simply saving it with 2021 isn't doing the trick.
