Model browser defaults

Hello Community,

I'm back with yet another question, you guys have been great so far with my learning.

So I am in the model browser and I'm wondering if there any way to change the defaults for columns inside it.

I would like to see the Model Role show up on everyone's workstation, we are all on a network and most settings seem to carry over to everyone, when I add the Model Role column to my workstation it seems to change my local settings and it is shown on me Model Browser every time but when I go check another workstation it doesn't change on theirs.

Is there a default I can change or is it located on the databases so I can go look around in Access?

Thank you everyone for your help,

Justin

If you add the model role into AS via the object properties editor in MT, this is added into the astoraddin database, under the model role table.

This is local on your machine.

For it to be transferred to other machines , you need to have either a master data set on server, which is managed and then each user logins to this location by set up of the configuration file.
Alternative you can deploy common data set via a batch file.
The actual element and method depends on actual version.

Try AKN , there are some references on their

Thanks John,

I don't know if we are on the same page here, maybe my question wasn't detailed well, all I am looking for is how to get the Model Role column to show up on everyone's workstation, do I have to go to all of them and manually add the Model Role column inside their Model Browser?

Thank you,

Justin

To do this you need to create a master dataset, then use this, either it is uploaded to server and everyone is linked to it, or it is downloaded onto their systems at login via batch deployment file.

The model browser, you just need to activated the model role column, just click in the header and it will appear.

Not sure if you can have it stay set by default, know it tends to remain in place once activated in a model.
