Missing Hole Definitions

I am working on a project and it involves inserting quite a few holes in straight and curved beams. When I create the holes they have the green gizmo that allows for removal and or changing the properties of the holes. After awhile the gizmo vanishes, the hole remains  and I can no longer alter or remove the hole. Some holes retain the gizmo and all is fine.

Has anyone had this issue and is there a solution, a setting or am I just doing something wrong?

Can you try to change the beam representation to features?

This was discussed during training and I forgot all about it. Yes, it does appear when changed to features.  There is so much to learn and remember and coming from another package doesn't help.  Thanks for your reply.
