I currently have PL mapping to FB when an applicable size is given (working just fine in Model Browser and BOM's), but the kss file always shows PL.
Is there some setting or another table that needs to be modified for the translation to a kss file?
The KISS file mapping comes via the GTCMapping database, in there are tableS for mapping the KISS profiles, materials.
if I recall there is a specific one for plates to map plate, I think you change that one for plates only.
for flat bar that would come under the profile conversion.
You can filter by the kiss Profile type and then give new name for the kiss entry.
There are two locations for the GTCmapping, for the AS it should use the MDF type, which is found under your program data, Autodesk advance steel year, Country folder, steel , data.
if memory is correct the MDB database of same name is now used by revit for the AS/RVT interchange via the SMLX.
been a while since I looked at the kiss data.
Hope that helps.

I tried making changes to the KissPlateMaterial table of the GTCmapping DB, but it changed all PL.
It doesn't seem to work in the same way that MapInternToExtern table does at there is not really an "internal" column that would be searchable.
The KissPlateMaterial table behavior seems to be take anything that is PL and translate it to whatever is listed on the first line.
Because these are PL (created from the connection vault) that fall into FB sizes, I don't think the KISS_Profile_Conversion table comes into play - but maybe there is a trick that can be used...
I am hoping that there is another table that I am missing.
Those are the only tables for KISS, within the gtcmapping.
It’s very basic , this is the interbal
reference, this is the name for kiss when the kiss file is created.
