Location of Beam Marks

I'm trying to get all beams to have their marks on the to face only, at the north or west end as appropriate.

What I'm getting at the moment is a seemingly random mark location.

Does anyone know if there is a way to tell AS where to put the marks?

Thanks

Hi,

As of AS2019 +/- beams can be created in any direction, having compass in the model, beams will be always detailed with marks on the left - South and West (except if we assign detailing orientation due to attached material parts

GA dwgs can be created prior to assembly dwgs, this is a normal workflow - issue preliminary GA dwgs with ABOM for material procurement and PM / GC coordination.

Below is a short screencast of a test showing no difference of how beams were created, all marks / labels are located South and West:

If it is made of steel, I can model it and detail it.

Hi Ilko,

thank you for your time explaining, always trying to improve my output, also now I need to change my compass symbol in GAs, haha. I'm going to run this test now myself, I have to this point been just having compass on my piece details, I will change to triangle now I think.

Much appreciated.

Beams are always marked at the working point, from the primary view on the print. An erection piece number is always marked on the top flange above the fabrication piece mark, that way the erector knows which end is where and which flange is up when he flies the beam into position.
