If it is made of steel, I can model it and detail it.

hi Ilko,

Many thanks for your suggestion.

However, system creates section perpendicular to view/beam, rather then along the skewed end plate ↓

Hi,

The model role for plate will be end plate.

Column dwg style used.

This is the view, End plates from inside-Front...Rear ...:

My current is at Front 1", Rear 1" but I will make it 1/32" for rear and 0 for front or 1/32" for both.

The thread above described how to turn the creation of end plate views and section views depending on model role.

If you need cut view symbols for end plates displayed, we can turn them on here:

Have a great day.

hi Ilko,

Many thanks for your reply.

I have created new model role hoping I will be able to separate base plate view from end plate view i.e., to have section view for my skewed end (a) and end view projection for the base plate (b).

(side note: I made a mistake when creating the name for model role, as it turns out system doesn’t like spaces Endplate Skewed needs to be EndplateSkewed).

Anyway, long story short, if I’m correct there is no way of separating end views: for example, section cut view (with section annotation) viewing inside out ; and end view projection without any annotation at the other end of column?

Hi,

In MT, load database, filter Model,

in ModelRolesRules table add model roles and assign behavior:

Add

SkewedEndPlate - NOT - Allow creation of end plates views

SkewedEndPlate -  - Allow creation of cut views

Base Plate -  - Allow creation of end plates views

Base Plate -  NOT - Allow creation of cut views

Similar to the screenshot below:

Hi there,

I have tried your suggestion - with no luck, I can get skewed plate section to show only if where to add additional view, however squared on beam, not the plate:

not sure how to add video here's the link: https://autode.sk/3KOrQNG

Hi,

what am i missing? When i use my custom drawing stlye it works fine for those types of Main Parts. The Model has to be correct. Add a Custum Model Role if needed. I hope i understood your problem^^

Maybe the following pictures explain my settings.

In your example you have both ends as 'section views' from inside, this is what I'm after:
