How to create 'T' cleat connection rather than Angle Cleat?

Hi.

In AS, there is a connection for Angle Cleats.

However, what if i need to use T cleat? I can't find it in custom connection. Basically this T shape is cutting from I beam where the bottom flat part to make it looks like T shape.

Please help.

Hi @nuwul,

Thank you for posting on Advance Steel forum 🙂

Indeed, there is no specific joint connection as you ask.

On the other hand, there are many situations or connections that are not covered by current implemented joints.

In these situations, you could create the connection "manually": place the requested elements - plates, T-beam, bolts, welds etc. - in the right position using the Advance Steel & AutoCAD commands.

Anything that is created by a joint can be created also manually. The difference is, of course, the speed: it is much easier to create the connection using a parametric joint. But it is not a limitation.

Further, after you placed the connection elements manually - you could create a custom connection, to help you for the similar situations.

I hope these helps you

Best regards,
Emy
