How to change assembly name?

I would like to name my assemblies "column" and "beam" instead of IPE500 or whatever the main part is.

It seems something so obivous but I fail to do it.

Can anybody point me to the right direction?

I assume you are referring to the assembly name on the drawing border and not having your mark appear as "Column500"?

If so, you can edit the prototypes and use "ROLE" as a tag for the attribute you want to use to display the part name.

If instead you want the name to appear in the actual mark, you could try using the assembly prefix option in the naming (not sure what IPE refers to...)

IPE500 is the profile of main part (european).

You need to change the token used in template to other token.
