Help with Detail View

I am struggling with what I thought should be an simple solution.

I have attached (2) drawings and a model.  Both drawings are created using a camera view.  My goal is to rotate the drawings in GA-1  90degrees ccw so the whole view shows with the north arrow pointing left.  GA-2 shows what happens when I rotate the view in the drawing.  I have tried several things, but I can't seem eliminate the clipping.  (Both X and Y clipping are unchecked.)

I have created a group BRIDGE_ASSY of the items contained within my camera.

With out going into a lot of detail, I want to keep this assembly as shown for detailing purposes.  It is a welded structure, but due to AS lack of sub-assembly, I wanted to attempt to do like this.  (Vs creating a dummy weld attaching everything.  Messes up my numbering.)

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Hi,

In drawing 2 double click on the inner green frame around the view. Either swap the two values for the X and Y "view frame dimensions" or tick Automatic.

I have tried both things you mention and it is not working.

Any other suggestions?

FYI using AS2024 USA build.

Hi,

Although I can't find any in the model, the detail says it was made with a camera. Why don't you simply rotate the camera 90deg and the generate a new view. That would be best; keep the camera matching the output.

To help me keep track of things, I usually create separate layers for all of my model view cameras.  I'll use a convention something like this: MV-EL-LN. (Model View, Elevation, Looking North) or something similar.  I usually use the color blue for my model view camera boxes as well.  I think this is why you couldn't find any.  I believe a simple rotate (ro) command of the model view box worked as you suggested.  Thank you.  Sorry about the delayed acceptance of the solution.

Regards.

Dan.

the problem is here: the ucs by creating the modelview. The x-axis in the model will be the x-axis in the plan view.
You could see the orientation by right mouse button click in the modelbox and set the point "show camera symbol", now you will see the camera which is "backplaced" in the modelview--> i attach a pic for it

so yes, you need to rotate the modelview(camera)
