Hello,
I'm trying to display on the 2d drawings the 'External1, External2, etc' unique tags.
I've setup a "Ext Name 2" (or %ExtName2) as an 'Annotation strategy' rule, setup the 'Objects presentation' Labelling to choose the rule.
Next step I've edited the AstorCurrentAddIn / MapInternToExtern table and added a integer as 1 and testing it on a member (picture attached), updated this into the project.
When creating the 2D drawing none of the External names seem to appear.
I've tested the annotation strategy rule by adding a few standard ones in there and that works all fine, just can't seem to get those External ones to appear.
Not sure what I'm doing wrong or if they cannot be displayed within a 2D drawing but only BOM?
Cheers

you had to activate the mapping in the defaults and then have a look of order for the beam mapping which is used:
In some older versions it was necessary top restart AS, but I think this works in AS2020

Thanks for the prompt response.
The documentation I've read has stated the same about this Mapping tick, I'm using AS2019 with latest hot fixes and every where I look in the Management Tools / Defaults I cannot for the life of me find this 'Mapping' option.
Using filter search still I can't find this mapping.
Pictures attached of all the Defaults / General options available to me.
first of all:
please create your own profile and set this to current, because otherwise ,you will have an Advance Profile, which is existing in every new version, so by migrating your settings in a newer version, all your settings are maybe not existing anymore, because the existing profile is not overwritten.
To your problem:
which version and installation language do you use? all Updates installed? maybe old migrated databases? I have a look in the original AS2019 International installation, and there the mapping point is existing...
You could maybe have a look if you do the following:

Hi Aaron
The "Mapping" option is called "Recoding" in the UK installation.
Try to answer all the above in one post.
My AS2019 is the Australian version and I do see 'Recoding' it was ticked already.
I unticked it, saved the profile, then ticked it again and now the External tags are working!
So maybe this was like Sebastian was saying using the default Advance Steel profile may have caused conflict.
My version installed on this system was on a new computer with no migration settings from previous versions, but to not take any chances I have created a 'New' profile for future use.
Thanks once again.
