it seems the Graitec PowerPack is very important for us to use advance steel, can you offer us a install package for a try? why we must use two software to do one thing.

This is probably a question for an Autodesk employee,

I would like to export an AS model in a format commonly used by industy such as STEP, IGES or even DXF.

Is this now possible in version 2019?

We've been trying without any success, it would seem that AS doesn't even recognise or work with DXF when trying to export a model for use in other Autodesk products such as AutoCAD.

This has already been stated, but to see an advance steel model in plain autocad, you just need to install the advance steel object enabler on that PC unit.  It must be for the same version as advance steel.

the graitec power pack for advance steel also has several opitions to export the model to solids.

How can you check which object enablers are installed?

And also do you know where I can download the latest enablers?

We are using version 2018 and if I export an AS model in AS it wont open up in Auotcad.

Just use google search for “advance steel object enabler 2018”

https://knowledge.autodesk.com/support/advance-steel/troubleshooting/caas/downloads/content/advance-...

To check if it is install, goto “add remove programs” , in control centre , or in Win 10, settings,  apps, then look for programs and features. It will populate a list of all programs installed, you will see it listed there , along with other Autodesk products.

if you have Advance Steel installed, the object enabler should be automatic included. So if you start AutoCAD you should have the possibility to open AS details and models (but only from AS2018)

But in this case the users are not advance steel users, if they only have autocad, then it is required to download the object enabler to install on the pc that only has plain autocad.

This way the other users within an organisation that do it use advance steel can then see the created models and drawings , without any need to explode the files.

If you where sending the files to third party then yes , still use the explode opitions,  but then you lose the link to the model, as it is just dumb autocad.
