Drawing process all singelparts to sheet not working

Hi,

I'm using all singelparts A2 to A0 but singelparts are not in one page (or two). One singel part is on A1 other is on A2 and other 10 are in A1.

All singelparts should be possible to put in one page. Why is program doing so? I'm using default process.

Thanks for answers

have u change the prototype that the proces uses

i have found that to change a process from single part per page to multi part per page  u need to change the prototype that it uses to be a single part or multi part prototype

so make shore the prototype used by process is a multi part one

Hi @JPNR87,

Thank you for posting on Advance Steel forum 🙂

The drawing process "16 - All Assemblies - A2 to A0 - Fill the sheet" is using multiple steps:

2018-11-27_1540_Process_with_multiple_steps.png

The idea is like that:

- The drawing process tries to insert the generated detail drawing into the first prototype (the one from "Main step")

- If it is not possible, it goes to the next "Alternative steps", using the new prototype

- And so on until it finds a suitable prototype or until there is no "Additional steps"

I hope it helps.

Best regards,
Emy

Hi,

I understand  your explanation, Emanuel.

My model is one assembly and consists a bunch of singel elements. Tried to do like you described using "16 - All Assemblies - A2 to A0 - Fill the sheet" but with no success - same problem.

Befor going from 2018 to 2019 with this migration option no problem occured with this

Still confused

Hi @JPNR87,

Thank you for your reply.

I think I was not very clear in my explanation. I tried to explain why you get different sheet sizes when use the drawing process "16 - All Assemblies - A2 to A0 - Fill the sheet": because it is designed to use different page sizes when a detail does not fit in the A2 page size.

To get all drawings using only 1 sheet size - as example only A1 pages - you should use a drawing process with "Main step" only, without "Additional steps". As example, you could use the process "02 - All Assemblies - A1 - Fill the sheet" and all the drawings will use the A1 prototype.

You might find helpful the attached document about how drawing processes are working and how to customize them. It is from this class from Autodesk University:

I hope it helps you.

Best regards,
Emy
