Dimension Styles - View Dimension Information

Hello to all,

Hope this finds everyone well.

I am beginning the journey of working on custom Dimension Styles.

I'm able to work quite well with it so far but am running into trouble with setting up the dimensions.

Is there any information that can explain what each 'Dimension Definition' is and what does it do? 

I understand that the best way is to just try for myself and see but I wanted to at least ask and try my luck.
